FABRIC ART PAINTINGS - PAGE 1
Fabric Art is a concept of painting with fabric. Instead of paint I use small pieces of cloth to create a picture. This can be done with small dabs of fabric or large sweeping panels, random or specific shapes, to create a picture on fabric. A painting can have hundreds of pieces of fabric glued together and with each additional layer of fabric the painting will take on a life of its own. Each Fabric Painting is a one-of-a-kind work of art.
Any image can be transformed into a Fabric Art Painting, from a still life to an abstract, from a photograph of a family member or your favorite pet. Fabric Art is limitless and the possibilities are endless for a unique and unusual Wall Quilt.
Fabric Art Painting can take several days to a week or longer to complete. First, you have to pick out the fabric to give the effect of a painting and then you need to prepare the fabric. This process can take hours or a day or more. Then the fun begins, making the painting. The best way to describe this type of work is like putting together a puzzle.
I work off of photographs or patterns, getting some ideas from them and then incorporating my own ideas. This is a very unusual way to do a painting and you don't see it done very often.
The price of a painting includes shipping within the USA. If you are outside of USA, please email for shipping costs.
I love challenges and special orders are always welcome. Thanks for stopping and looking.
TIGER LILY FLOWER
$
85.00
Also called “red lily” or erroneously the garden “tiger lily”, this beautiful native plant sometimes blooms profusely during late June in the native grasslands of North Dakota. The narrow leaves are about two inches long. Stems may be up to two feet tall from white underground bulbs. Lily is the classical Latin name for these plants and the specific name philadelphicum means “of Philadelphia” in botanical Latin.
The tiger lily can grow up to 3 inches across and has a strong, sweet scent. It’s also called the “ditch lily”, as it can be seen growing wild, in ditches. If you are so inclined, it’s good to know that this showy flower is edible.
This painting is in a light brown frame, with the opening 4 ½ x 6 1/2 and the frame is 7 1/4 x 9 ½.

The bald eagle was chosen June 20, 1782 as the emblem of the United States of America, because of its long life, great strength and majestic looks, and also because it was then believed to exist only on this continent. The eagle represents freedom. Living as he does on the tops of lofty mountains, amid the solitary grandeur of Nature, he has unlimited freedom, whether with strong pinions he sweeps into the valleys below, or upward into the boundless spaces beyond.
This painting is 16 x 20 and mounted on a gallery wrapped stretched canvas. The edges have the fabric wrapped around it and has the wire on the back and is ready to hang or you can put it in a frame.
